This course is designed to provide you with insight into the role of diet, lifestyle and nutrition in a functional capacity.

This Diet, Lifestyle and Functional Nutrition course will develop your understanding of the role of diet and lifestyle and their impact on overall health.  It will enable you to work with clients to help them to identify potential allergens and intolerance’s, assist them with planning and implementing a diet plan to positively impact health and allow you to recommend or refer clients for clinical diagnoses of underlying health conditions.

What is Functional Medicine? – Functional nutrition looks at the root cause of underlying chronic disease and allows you to work with clients to improve their overall health in a practical setting.  You will develop an understanding of what is really meant by a balanced diet, you will understand a range of diets and how they improve health and you will have a full understanding of what functional nutrition is and why it can be so effective

The course is broken down into three parts:

Part one is about different diets, understanding what nutrition is and the functions of the macro and micro nutrients.

Part two is about the role of diet and nutrition in different chronic diseases and conditions including the impact of other lifestyle factors on overall health.

Part three is about functional nutrition, what it is and how it can be used.

Functional Nutrition is one component of functional medicine and cannot be practiced in isolation of clinical input but this course will allow you to have a full understanding of the role of functional nutrition in achieving improved health and as a professional working in nutrition, will provide you with a detailed insight into this ground-breaking field. You will find easy to follow instructions throughout the course and once you have completed it, you can apply for your fully accredited and insurable diploma.  Study time is aprox 30-50 hrs or 100 hrs including case studies.

Exam Information

Do I need to complete an Exam?

No, only request and complete an exam if you require your accredited qualification. (Exams or certificates are not applicable for any of our Free Courses)

When should I request my exam paper?

You should only request this when you have completed and understood all your course material fully and have prepared your case studies. Details will be sent to you with your course material, including a link to the Student Video library. Any exams should be requested within two years of course purchase.

Do I need to complete a case study?

Case studies are an important part of your training and it is recommended that you practice on family and friends as much as possible whilst learning. You should complete a minimum of 5 case studies that you feel confident with before working with members of the public.

What does my exam entail?

There is no pressure or clock to watch when taking your exam as you will have 7 days in which to complete before sending it back to be marked. Your exam will have a number of questions, some multiple choice and also space to write up a case study. Finally, there is a short questionnaire that we ask all student kindly to complete.

How do I request an exam?
